By MOVEMENT OF LANDLESS RURAL WORKERS (MST)

For urgent changes! In defense of life and hope!

Anchored and anchored by the rebellious mystique and cultivated with peasant culture, the National Coordination of the MST, in the framework of our 37 years, met remotely from January 28 to 30, 2021, with around 1000 delegates and delegates from all over the country, with the objective of analyzing the national and international conjuncture, deepening the study of the agrarian question, projecting the Active Resistance and the permanent construction of the Popular Agrarian Reform.

“We dream beyond ourselves” and we dedicate our formulation and willingness to fight in solidarity with the families of the 222.666 people killed (officially) in the pandemic in Brazil. We understand that these deaths are not just caused by the virus, but are the result of the logic of a world governed by neoliberalism, where profit is above life. And, amid bodies screaming from suffocation, some 2 billionaires have increased their fortunes to $12 trillion. Only with the profit, in 2020, of the ten richest people in the world, it would be possible to buy vaccine for the entire world population.

But, for the people, the crisis of capitalism has worsened. And it has charged in the destruction of nature, in jobs and income, and above all in human lives! In Brazil, this scenario deepens under the command of the Bolsonaro government, which has the worst management of the pandemic in the world. We arrived at a scenario where of the 100 million economically active Brazilians, 14 million are unemployed, 6 million are discouraged and 40 million people live on “odd jobs”. There are 60 million Brazilian men and women abandoned by the State, exposed to violence and hunger, aggravated by the end of emergency aid and the rise in food prices. Come back Emergency Aid!!

Vaccination is not guaranteed for everyone. And this is not just incompetence, it is a project of death, of those who despise the lives of the Brazilian people! The situation in Manaus and other states, without oxygen, without doctors and supplies, is a state crime. We want to breathe! Vaccination now!! For everyone, free and guaranteed by SUS! Therefore, it is urgent to repeal Constitutional Amendment 95, which imposed cuts to public health and education.

However, we know that it will not be guaranteed by the project of death, and the Brazilian people have shown resistance. There are already 66 requests for impeachment filed in Congress. We demand that the mayor respect the popular will and put the impeachment to a vote. We will never forget the names of all the authorities who silence or collaborate with the murderer in power. We are attentive and demand the restitution of Lula's political rights. And we will not retreat in the face of threats to break with democracy.

O Outside Bolsonaro is urgent and necessary! We can't wait! It's time for the people! 2021 brought a new political climate led by popular and left-wing forces, brought together by the Frente Brasil Popular and Povo Sem Medo, demonstrating that it is possible to combine health care with symbolic actions. From now on, we will not give up, we will return to the streets with our cars, bicycles, wagons and a lot of indignation. We will continue fighting in February and in March we will be taken by the aromas of the fights of March 8th.

Therefore, we call on the entire working class to build to the banners of struggle:

The fight for Vaccination Now! Back Emergency Aid! Out Bolsonaro!

We demand the overthrow of presidential vetoes to help rural people!

We denounce that going back to school is a crime. Classes recover, lives don't!

Defend the SUS and revoke Constitutional Amendment 95!

In this sense, we are committed to organizing Fora Bolsonaro in all municipalities where we have camps and settlements, dialoguing with the people and defending life, producing healthy food to alleviate the effects of the crisis on the people, such as 4 million kilos of donated food in 2020.

We will continue to be inspired by the example of Paulo Freire on his centenary and we will remain firm with his legacy, producing healthy food, planting trees, doing political training, organizing our Journey of Training and Grassroots Work and contributing to solidarity actions in the urban peripheries together with other popular movements and partners in our struggle.

We reaffirm our solidarity with all the struggling peoples of the world who are resisting the policies of neocolonialism, imperialism and increasing exclusion and forced migration. We stand in solidarity with the people of the countryside, the waters and the forests in struggle! We join the fight against racism, against LGBTphobia and against patriarchy worldwide! We offer our solidarity to the peasant men and women of India who have been fighting for several weeks.

We continue in Active Resistance, in our territories, facing the dismantling policies of agrarian reform and attempts to privatize land, against the handing over of 25% of each municipality to foreign capital, the regularization of land grabbing and the appropriation of natural assets. We denounce the agribusiness and mining model as the main culprits for the outbreak of pandemics, for their model of destruction of forests and biodiversity, and animal production on an industrial scale. “Because fighting for us is doing what the people want to see done”.

We will continue to articulate in Brazil and internationally with all the social and popular forces that want to build a society based on solidarity, equality and social justice. A socialist society!

Let's fight with our flags!

Fight, Build Popular Agrarian Reform!
