Sweep Bolsonaro and his government from death by legal and democratic means, with a progressive and popular candidate

This article is dedicated to those fighting for wounded democracy and rescuing a devastated nation.

Political forces, enemies of life, have allied themselves with the Coronavirus and are favoring the decimation of more than 600 thousand lives. Its objective is to lead us to pre-modern times, dismantling our culture and our science, suppressing labor and social security rights, spreading lies, cowardly hatred of the poor, indigenous peoples, quilombolas, people of African descent, homosexuals and LGBTI people.

Ideologically, these forces are ultraconservative with a clearly fascist nature. They rose to the highest power of the republic. The chief representative of these forces wants, by all means, even in defiance of the law, to be re-elected. As a parliamentarian he magnified torturers and defended dictatorships. As head of state, he was lenient with the large fires in the Amazon rainforest, with loggers and with the intrusion of mining companies and gold mining, including on indigenous lands. He committed crimes against humanity for his denial of Covid-19 immunizers and proved to be insensitive and without any empathy in the face of the suffering of thousands of bereaved families and millions of unemployed and hungry.

Unfortunately we see the fragility, even the omission of our official or legal institutions and the low intensity of our democracy which mediated by social justice and respect for rights looks rather like an immense official farce. Nothing or little was done to remove this sinister, authoritarian and fascist figure. They are not allowed to watch, impassively, the population, cultural, political and spiritual disintegration of our country.

Faced with this historic tragedy, we need, through elections, to curb the death drive present in the executive branch and its auxiliaries. It is necessary to inflict a resounding electoral defeat on this man who has shown himself to be insane, unworthy, malevolent and incapable of governing the Brazilian people. He deserves to be, legally, wiped from the political scene and pay for his crimes, so that, in the end, we can live with a minimum of fair and sustainable development, with social peace, with open joy and with collective happiness.

In order to carry out this political and ethical step, within the limits of the Constitution and the democratic order of law, it is important, in my opinion, to take the following steps:

First, guarantee, if possible, already in the first round, the victory for president, of someone with charisma, with the confidence of the great majorities and with the ability to pull us out of the dark pit into which we were thrown. He has previously shown that he is capable of accomplishing this redemption. There is no need to reveal his name as he has already emerged, victorious, in the electoral polls.

Second, it is not enough to elect a president with such characteristics. It is essential to guarantee a large parliamentary group so that coalition presidentialism does not compromise the ideals and purposes, present in the origins and redeemable, such as the option for social policies that serve the great impoverished and oppressed majorities, with transparency, with the ethics of solidarity from the most vulnerable and with active and proud sovereignty. Make alliances with parties in tune with social and popular purposes. It is also important to guarantee the election of governors and, in due time, of mayors and councilors who, in the regions and at the grassroots level, support the central government with a sense of social justice and care for the lives of the people and nature.

Third – and most importantly – reinforce and, where necessary, resume the grassroots work, organizing popular committees of all kinds, so that they participate and articulate with existing organizations such as health, education, gender equality and others, creating citizen awareness. It is not enough to ensure insertion in the prevailing, perverse and anti-popular system, but to create change awareness, pointing to another type of society with participatory, social and ecological democracy.

This grassroots work is imperative if we are to create the conditions for transformation from below and create progressive and libertarian movements that translate dreams into viable, everyday practices. It is at this level, ground floor, that the new begins to be tested and the energy needed to continue the refoundation of a new Brazil begins to be rehearsed, against the extension of historical dependence, against the mongrel, present in the backward elites. and against the media oligopoly, the ideological arm of the ruling class, heir to the Big House.

We are convinced that this long-suffering destructive chaos will pass and will be transformed into the promising generative chaos of a new order, higher, fairer, fraternal and caring for all life: in short, a Brazil in which we will have the joy of living and living together with justice. , where the loveliness and joviality that characterize the best of ourselves will be easier.
